a poem for Cherry Tree Lane

I once heard about a place
Where magic used to live on
With the help of a beautiful Lady
That made any place feel like a home

I tried to find it
But I was told by many that It had to find me
And when the East Wind came
I’d just have to look around the corner
Cherry Tree Lane is where my destiny would be

I got lost in that world
Life was much better there
Oh, how I wish
I could live forever
on number seventeen

With the wind, she came
But made sure to tell us that
As soon as it changed
She would be going somewhere next

On our walks, we’d always meet a friend
And he would take us on amazing adventures
On places that could very well be paintings

Life was much better there
Practically perfect in every way, I would say
How I wish I could live forever
On number seventeen

But soon the West Wind came
And took me back to reality, now changed
One I no longer know pain
Because I know if I ever forget how it feels to dream
The magic Lady will come again
And take me into her own dreamland
